Project Overview

Type of Production

6 Episodes YouTube Series

My role

Creative Director, Pre-Production Producer & Production Coordinator/Director & Post-Production Supervisor

Production company/client

MMA & The Pure Land Foundation

Duration

6 months from vision to delivery of all the episodes.

Client

The Pure Land Foundation advocates for the benefits of Buddhism-inspired wisdom and practices to support the improvement of mental and emotional wellness as a response to the global mental health crisis. The Pure Land Foundation creates wholly original digital content including insights, teachings and practical tools for individuals, whilst also emphasising the importance of inner transformation as a pathway to societal change and collective wellbeing The Pure Land Foundation was founded in 2015 by Bruno Wang. Bruno Wang is a supporter of art and music as a patron of the arts; an advocate for spiritual and mental wellness at The Pure Land Foundation, and a producer of socially-important film and theatre productions at Bruno Wang Productions.

Scripts

For What I’ve Learned About Love, I transformed long-form interviews into short, self-contained videos that resonated with a wide audience. I reviewed the full transcripts and identified six core themes, then led three online creative sessions to refine the tone and structure. During filming, I directed with an emphasis on intimacy and authenticity, and in post-production, I crafted edits with strong hooks, complete story arcs, and platform-optimised formatting to ensure each piece stood on its own while contributing to the series’ emotional cohesion.

Location

Aldeburgh and David Cadman’s place.

Talent

David Cadman is a British writer, Quaker, and former academic whose work spans real-estate consulting, sustainability, and more recently the spiritual theme of love.

Results

The outcome was a collection of captivating videos that not only captured viewers’ attention but also fostered a connection with David’s personal brand and position The Pure Land Foundation as a supporter of wellbeing. The short clips successfully directed audiences to the longer videos, resulting in an impressive average of 1,500 views for each long-form piece and increasing YouTube followers from 200 to 22,000.

While this success can also be attributed to other YouTube series in the channel, this project serves as a compelling demonstration of my talent for identifying key topics and visually presenting them in a way that maximises both emotional resonance.

Productions Laws

that applied to this production

Practise everything

Practise even how you are going to coach the speaker during filming.

Producing is
10% planning, 20% Problem solving, 5% creativity, 65% diplomacy.

Make sure everyone reads the call sheet.

A shot list that your B-roll camera person can check off is not a bad idea.

The schedule will change

Plan like a general, adapt like an artist.

Explain the obvious

‘I am sure you know this, but … explain the obvious’

You’re not just managing production. you’re managing energy.

(and this is why I need an assistant.)

Having an extra day allocated, just in case, saved this production.

People hire how you make them feel, not just what you deliver.
